Coffee TDS Refractometer

Incredibly precise and affordable next generation refractometer with colour display from Difluid.

The DiFluid coffee refractometer will give you a better insight into the specific characteristics of your coffee, such as how much extraction has taken place. The refractometer should give a total dissolved solids (TDS) reading. Using this data along with your brewing recipe (amount of coffee and water used) and final beverage volume will allow the refractometer to measure and display TDS and coffee extraction yield.

When used correctly, a coffee refractometer is the most useful tool for achieving the perfect coffee taste and accuracy on every cup. 

  • We recommend calibrating the refractometer before each measurement.
  • Place a few drops of coffee on the sampling well.
  • The well lights up and the coffee sample shines through.
  • The refractometer should display a total dissolved solids (TDS) reading. This data, along with your coffee recipe (amount of coffee and water used) and final beverage volume, will allow the refractometer to measure and display TDS and coffee extraction yield.

A HUGE LEAP IN ACCURACY & PRECISION

R2 Extract´s bigger, higher resolution, color display allows for a greater density of information, for more testing modes and greater versatility.

The Microcalibration layer compensates for external disturbances and physical deformations such as temperature changes or undissolved particles, greatly improving accuracy and stability.

R2 Extract utilizes a carefully calibrated 2D CMOS imaging sensor, reducing risk of misaligment and fragility, while increasing data collection and eliminating the need for a cap.

Dual temperature sensors allow for incredible precision by reducing interference from the outside environment. This is achieved by a compensation between the separately placed temperature sensors within R2 Extract.

The Nano-Scale Hydrophobic Layer prevents liquid from sticking to the glass, minimizing the need to touch it and providing an extra layer of protection against scracthes, assuring long life.

WATERPROOF FOR EASY CLEANING: R2 Extract is IP67 water resistant, allowing you to simply rinse the sample dish under running water and wipe dry. Couldn´t be easier.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT: R2 Extract ships with a quality metal reusable coffee spoon to replace single use plastic pipettes. Not only does this prevent plastic waste, but also helps to distribute the heat from coffee, resulting in better accuracy of the refractometer. R2 Extract ships in sustainable packaging, and the charging cable does not contain toxic materials.
