BRAZIL SANTUÁRIO SUL TRIO BUNDLE
From a project born to disrupt the norm, challenging the traditional Brazilian profiles, Santuàrio Sul bring us three exotic varieties that you shouldn’t miss.
Fazenda Santuário Sul was founded in 2015 by Luiz Paulo Diaz Pereira. This project pretend to bring a global perspective to Minas Gerais, exploring new profiles of traditional Brazilian coffees and experimenting with more than 30 exotic varietals like this Gesha lot.
Through innovative cultivation practices and processes, the farm has settled ahead the market trends, achieving a brilliant record in the Brazilian Cup of Excellent awards.
Bourbon 300: Also known as Bourboncillo or Bourboncito is a low-yielding, high-quality dwarf mutation of Bourbon originally from the Antigua Region of Guatemala. This cultivar tends to produce clean cup profiles with intense sweetness.
Starmaya: A really unique coffee variety, the progeny of two parents: Marsellesa and CIR-SM01. Marsellesa (a Sarchimor line) was chosen for its resistance to coffee leaf rust and its organoleptic qualities. The CIR-SM01 was chosen as it doesn’t produce pollen. Planting them together ensures that the only pollen produced is coming from Marsellesa and, therefore this will fertilize also CIR-SM01 plants. This fantastic natural cross-pollination was the creation of the new Starmaya variety. Wonderful acidity with delicate hints of herbal.
Ethiosar: A hybrid of the Ethiopian varietal Rume Sudan and Sarchimor. Those varietals are themselves hybrids. Rume Sudan is a Typica mutation out of Ethiopia. Sarchimor is a hybrid of Villa Sarchi, a natural dwarf mutation of Bourbon and Timor. This complex heritage means that there is a lot of genetic diversity in its makeup to offer not only disease resistance and yields but a complex and vibrant cup profile.
