So thrilled to share with you our Cup of Excellence winner coffee from Ethiopia, Sidama, produced by Asefa Dukamo.
Asefa is a supplier who owns Dukamo Asefa Kerma farm. He has been working in the coffee industry for 27 years. He works with farmers and he is currently collecting coffee from Hamesho Berena kebele in Bensa zone of Sidama region from 300 farmers who supply an average of 4000 kilograms of coffee annually from a total of 375 hectares of land. This site is found at an altitude of 2200 – 2300 and the farmers harvest the 74158 coffee variety. Asefa owns a washing station where he processes coffee into washed and natural sun-dried coffee. This is then sold on the international market in Asia, the Middle East, and the United States of America. Asefa Dukamo participated in the 2020 Cup of Excellence competition and his coffee won seventh place. “Last year’s results were very helpful to promote our coffee and reach new market destinations. I am also happy with this year’s result and look forward to expanding market reach” he said.
